
Samsung has launched a new series of features phones which includes four new devices. The announcement was made in India and this series will go up against Nokia Asha series and even the really low-end Android smartphones from local manufacturers. It is known as the Samsung REX series.
The new Samsung REX series currently consists of four feature phones which include – REX 60, REX 70, REX 80 and the REX 90. The pricing starts from Rs. 4,280 and goes up to Rs. 6,490. All these devices have similar interface and the look and feel of it is very much like Samsung’s TouchWiz UI along with Facebook and Twitter integration.
The lowest amongst the four is the Samsung REX 60. The phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA resolution resistive display, it has smart dual-SIM feature which was introduced with Galaxy Grand, a 1.3 megapixel rear camera and a battery life of 15 hours of talktime.
Next up the Samsung REX 70 is a phone which features a 3-inch QVGA resolution capacitive display, it has smart dual-SIM, a 2 megapixel rear camera and a battery life of 13 hours of talkime.
The Samsung REX 80 also sports a 3-inch QVGA resolution capacitive display and smart dual-SIM features. Additionally, it features a 3 megapixel rear camera, has Wi-Fi connectivity and it is rated to provide up to 14.7 hours of talktime.
Finally, the Samsung REX 90 is the better equipped amongst these four as it sports a 3.5-inch HVGA resolution capacitive display and smart dual-SIM with true hot swap feature. It also includes Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and provides up to 15 hours of talktime.
Samsung’s REX series of feature phones will come pre-loaded with 10 Gameloft mobile games and some popular IM services like Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, etc.
